DIGITAL GRAPHICS EDITING - 4.5


For all 184 photos that were taken, not just the chosen images, I have the source ownershiop of them as the photographer, editor and and photo provider. However I have given Anne total access to the photos for her to use how ever and where ever she likes. This also means that by not applying a watermark or personal logo, the photos are allowed to be used by anyone who finds them online. I will have the original files on my personal laptop and an external hard drive with the files names ‘Goat Shoot’ and ‘Zombie Shoot’ in folders named the same. They are currently online on Anne’s special effcts fa page and soon to be on her offical website.

I don't feel that I was faced with any parameters or constraints which led to the original decicions made to change. However I would say that as I was taking the photos for me and well as Anne, she will not need to use all of the images and therefore I felt that I should have possibly asked her more specifically on the days of the shoots how she wanted he photos. I feel I could have done more close ups for her benefit and mine as the close up photos more more effective and of better quality.

The fitness for purpose of the final photos is that that they will be used for Anne's SFX portfolio which means they will be seen by international sfx artist companies and theatre/tv production companies to promote she special effects make up skills through various online websites and national magazines. My client told me in her brief

I am overwhelmed with the quality of the the photos overall however more so with the close up shots of the faces of the zombies as they were most clear and displayed the make up very well, the lighting was just right and really emphasised the fake injuries. Due to the lack of light and my lack of experimenting with the location and my camera led the the rest of the photos quality to decrease which led to the focus not being as fine as the close ups.

Anne, my client was very excited about the collage I made because as quoted by Anne “It shows the story and best of my work all in one frame” When Anne looked over all my photos together she said she could see the story and felt a connection with the images not only because it has her work in them but because they were taken so well it really gives the audience an exclusive insight to the zombie world being showen. Also as I’ve previously said my client and I spoke about the amount of images I took as it gave Anne a variety of aspects of the photographic story that she then selected the ones that she believed captured her vision stated in her brief. We chose a good selection of photos, 13 to show the great detail of Anne's work and then between 5 and 10 photos to show the models/actors in role of the zombies and the surroundings. Anne said she she will start with using the images on her Facebook publicity page and then send them to magazines such as Rebelicious and Bizarre magazine and they will eventually go onto a world wide website in order for people to see and request her services. As there were no pixel dimension and resolution required I did not need to manipulate my photos to suit that specification. I cropped and modified my photos to what I felt was needed.

They're are no legal restrictions on my photos. They are primarily for my client Anne and my use however as i have not copyrighted or produced a disclaimer for them they are able to be used by anyone.

These are research images I found before during the pre production section as a vision of what my client and I wanted the photos to look like. The first 2 are from the internet and I drew the last one and scanned it onto my computer.

These are the automatic properties that my photos have. They are the same for every image except the size of the image. They are all big photos but obviously the numbers will differ slightly.

DIGITAL GRAPHICS EDITING - 1.3

Research the design, layout and properties of digital graphics


This advert for a car on a website was placed in the centre of the web page white a  plain white background around it, immediately drawing attention to this ad. It obviously has a photo of the item that's being sold and then a brief bit of information about the car on top of the image. As it is on a website, links have been put on a bar above the photo to engage the audience to read more about the car. A sidebar is placed to the left of the photo, a dull grey colour so you do not get distracted by that detail and focus more on the information that is written in it. There are many ways to interact with this digital advert but the photograph of the car remains the focal point and it keeps reminding you that that is what you "need" to buy.



The next 2 images are from my Tumblr blog. I use this blog to share photos that I find inspiring, fun, weird and amazing. Tumblr is a social networking site but focuses more on photos. You create a profile and find other peoples profile in which you can follow and receive any photos that they post to their blog. The photos that are posted are of absolutely everything, from food to space to food and celebrities. The website it easy to navigate around and very simple to use.


This is a screen shot of a double spread in the Rebelicious Magazine where my client Anne, had a piece of her work featured. The spread was to show the readers of different, interesting objects that people have made as part of their hobby or own company who have yet to kick they're business off officially. My client's ear plugs were placed at the very top left of the page. The image was supplied by my client with a caption for the image.



DIGITAL GRAPHICS EDITING - 1.2

The purpose of digital graphics is mainly to transfer meanings. By using them personally, so taking your own photos and sharing them you are telling others what you like and what the objects or focus in the graphics mean to you and what you admire. The same goes for publicity and advertisement, the company who are trying to sell you something uses digital graphics to say "you need this, it will make a difference to your life" Therefore implying that if they get the item, it will generate a meaning with them and that is down to what they have consumed from the digital graphics.


In this day, you can do pretty much everything digitally and being online and so graphics have exploded across the world wide web in the last 2-3 decades and joining the internet, the technology for television, cameras, mobile devices and even cars have extremely improved and use graphics to enhance their functions. Therefore becoming more digitally equipped and having the ability to connect and transfer data to other digital devices.

DIGITAL GRAPHICS EDITING - 1.1

Digital graphics are used everywhere you go, you will see them everyday of your life. They are used to advertise, entertain, inform, inspire and many more things. You will see them on your travels via billboards, posters, buses, you will see them within your home in frames, in your job. Everywhere. Social networks, blogs and photo sharing applications are the most common ways to view a large number of digital graphics at one time on line. It is a way to share your journey and interests and to connect to the online community more. It brings a fun element to where ever and how ever you are looking at the graphics.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY - 4.4

Both Anne and I were excited about selecting the final photos as it's exciting organising your final product for people to see and share their opinion on. For my project there was no specific way to arrange and hand submit y final product so when choosing the photos we were not limited to a particular number and therefore could chose what ever images we believed were the best without having to eliminate any.
